ABOUT REDSHIFTLAB

Redshift is a shift in light — a change in wavelength that reveals movement, distance and transformation.

We took that idea as a visual principle.

Change the distance. Shift the point of view. Look again.

REDSHIFTLAB is a photography and film studio working with people, places and real situations. We create still and moving images for brands, institutions, events and hospitality, combining an editorial eye with documentary sensitivity.

Photography and film are not separate disciplines for us. They are different ways of shaping attention — through framing, light, movement, sound, rhythm and time.

The “lab” is where these approaches meet: observation and direction, still and motion, commissioned work and visual authorship.

We are interested not only in what happened, but in how it felt.

02

TWO PERSPECTIVES.
ONE VISUAL LANGUAGE.

REDSHIFTLAB brings together two generations and two complementary approaches to image-making.

Photography, documentary observation and visual direction meet filmmaking, cinematography and a contemporary approach to moving images.

Different backgrounds, different instincts — with the same attention to framing, atmosphere and storytelling.

FRÉDÉRIC PASQUINI

Photographer · Director · Visual Direction

Frédéric Pasquini is a photographer, filmmaker and visual director based in Nice, on the French Riviera.

A member of Hans Lucas, his practice spans commissioned photography, documentary work, photojournalism and moving image. Before focusing fully on image-making, he founded and ran a communication agency for twenty years — an experience that shaped his understanding of brands, institutions, cultural organisations and the realities of commissioned work.

His approach is rooted in observation: people, gestures, light, atmosphere and the unexpected details that reveal the character of a situation.

Alongside commercial commissions, he develops personal projects at the intersection of documentary, fiction and visual poetry, exploring the distance between reality and its representation.

Whether working on an event, an institutional commission or a personal project, the intention remains the same: to create images that are precise in purpose without losing the ambiguity, spontaneity and humanity of real life.

ELVIS PASQUINI

Filmmaker · Director · Cinematography

Elvis Pasquini is a filmmaker working across directing, cinematography and editing.

Currently studying Cinema at ECAL in Lausanne, he develops a practice centred on moving images, with particular attention to framing, rhythm, performance and atmosphere.

Within REDSHIFTLAB, he brings a distinctly cinematic perspective to commissioned films, branded content and hybrid photography–film productions.

His approach complements the studio’s documentary foundations with a contemporary cinematic language shaped by current film and image culture.
